We are on the MOVE..
"The MUSIC never DIED, IT just went UNDERGROUND" A lot of people are in a state called “INERTIA”, a state where they have the tendency to do nothing or remain unchanged until external forces push them towards a direction, but are they moving to the right direction? Love for music is one thing but taking it to another level is a different thing.. People are claiming they love the “MUSIC” but in reality they are just taking in all the music imposed on them. They love what is popular now, but will they still love it when it’s not popular anymore? What exactly is this so-called “MUSIC?” Some call it house, some call it trance, and some even call it "EVER AFTER". Come on? Ever after? Sure it used to be so cool way back in the love generation, but how many of those who used to love that song will still dance like crazy and tell the people around them “damn I love this song” when they hear it again? This is not what MUSIC is all about. It's about appreciation, not FADS! We should listen to MUSIC that will surely stand the test of time.
"Music embodies the ultimate freedom of creative expression" So many talented professional DJ's.. Or maybe we should instead call them ARTISTS. Music that is special for the DJ is then passed to the people with the hope that those people will also feel the special connection that the DJ had with that music. Every hour they spend in the DJ booth is like telling a story - a long story called LIFE. They try to tell a story with each and every song they play.
But sadly, only a few people realize this and lot of people still keep on going to the DJ booth to request songs without them realizing that they are destroying the story that the DJ is trying to tell. MIXING is an ART not a ticket to fame. It is the art of trying to control the energy of the people by telling them a story using the universal language, MUSIC. “Being a DJ is not a one night thing.. It’s a way of life” It’s Funny how it works here in our country. You see a DJ playing one night in a club bragging about his gig, then you never see or hear from him again after getting that one night of fame. How about the club loafers, those who loiter in the bar, and those who go to clubs just to see and be seen? What happened to MUSIC? Only a few care about quality MUSIC now.. Everyone just wants to be part of the bandwagon or create a scene. The music is for the people to appreciate. I know for sure music is in everyone. It is a universal language. People do not realize how influential music can be. We are not dictating what the music should be, we just share the music that the we love, and give the insight that we've found about the true nature of music. A self realization that gave more meaning to LIFE.
PASSION DRIVES MUSIC at its FINEST. QUALITY MUSIC, not just any kind of music, brings out the PARTY in US, Now we have a SCENE =D Passion can do greatness Break away from inertia! This is a shout to all the music lovers, disc jockeys, artists, clubbers and party people of the METRO! join THE MOVEMENT! MOVEMENT away from all this NON-SENSE, a MOVEMENT with new MUSIC towards a NEW DIRECTION!
Be part of the NEXT BIG THING.. Post this blog and let us all be EDUCATED! Spread the word! Shout it out! FEEL the VIBE! JOIN THE MOVEMENT!

Because of his versatility & patience in and out of the decks, Ali Nepomuceno is heralded as one of Manila’s finest spin doctors. He has been conquering the respect and admiration of the Electronic music community through his DJing skills and taste for music. Born to a family where music played a vital part of everyday life, Ali Nepomuceno was put into music classes at an early age. He learned the basic fundamentals of the drums through his father and the melodies of the guitar from his brother, who fascinated Ali with Acid jazz. From collecting tapes of jazz bands and listening to them, playing and analyzing a friend’s DJ equipment, Ali started off towards the path of becoming a DJ. He started playing at a friend’s lounge and soon after got shots at playing in different bars through recommendations by friends and colleagues. In the long run, his maturity in music paid off and was rewarded with affiliations with different powerhouse DJ management groups (NBK/Bigfish Manila). He was also given a chance to play in various events, fashion shows and corporate parties. Now, he is having his regular stints at the country’s one and only underground club – Warehouse 135. He also plays for Driven Manila, spinning for the latter’s international and local events. This 2007, Ali has played in different club venues in major cities in the country and headliner gigs with international DJs and artists – Colette (OM Records), Steve Porter (Porterhouse, NYC), Shunji Moriwaki (8ball, NYC) & Steve Walker (Tao Club, Las Vegas). Ali Nepomuceno's live promotional dj mixes have reached other countries like the United States, China and more. Different among the other spin doctors, Ali's elevating and captivating long DJ sets are spontaneous and are not rehearsed at all. His versatility in all genres makes him unique unlike anyone else. From Dub to Techno, to Progressive and trance, Ali can surely manage to bring something out of the box - something you have never heard before. Aside from DJing, Ali’s also in music sound clipping for television commercials as well as promotion and events. Recently, Ali Nepomuceno has played alongside DJ Aldrin of Zouk, Asia's best DJ export. In 2007, Ali Nepomuceno co-formed Manila Underground with music aficionado Roldan Capito. Manila Underground is an organization that ventures deeper in the underground music scene. Ali's series of events showcases the young, the talented and upcoming DJs in collaboration with Driven Manila, Event Masters Corporation (EMC) and Musik Lokal.

The New Club on the Block: Warehouse 135 By Thera Bakunawa of Circuit Mag /// www.circuitmag.net Just when you thought that Manila’s clubbing scene was bordering on comme ci comme ça, Warehouse 135 happens. Manila’s party scene has added another place to quench the thirst for clubbing. CIRCUIT found a hole in the wall that will satisfy the need for something new. Hidden from the usual area of Makati’s party scene is a club that needs no sign. The queue of gorgeous people with their great love for dance music is the sign that it’s …THE WAREHOUSE everyone’s buzzing about. It is the Zouk of Singapore, the Discothèque of Barcelona, the Pacha of Ibiza, DC10 of Amsterdam. Warehouse 135 is definitely making a name for Manila. Domini Primero (created BIGFISH in 1999), the club’s managing director, proudly welcomes partyphiles to the hippest and best thing that has hit the metro’s party scene. The structure of the club is a contrast of a rugged exterior and a chic interior that’ll remind you of hip clubs abroad. A dramatic entrance with sexy black velvet curtains leads you to a lovely high ceiling that sports lighting and special effect by Martin Mac. Breathe deep now partygoers, as no less than the Eastern Acoustic Works (winner of the "Best Sound System" and "Best Sound Product" awards at the 2006 Club World Awards) booms out the club’s beats like crazy! You wouldn’t want to leave the dance floor once you hit it. Warehouse 135 promises to give Manila real good music and none of those cheesy mainstream tunes. From everyone’s favorite progressive house to electro-clash, this is every clubbers' paradise. All local DJs were screened & hand picked to ensure that quality dance music is to be played in the club and to take it to a higher notch; they are also bringing in world class international DJs from around the globe of different dance music genres, hopefully every single week. Think of the meat packing district clubs in New York because strict house rules are going to be very much implemented. Selected VIP guest list, "Threesome Promo" (bring 2 girls, get in for free), and free entrance for ladies all night. As of the moment, while the club is still on soft opening mode, door charge is only PhP300 with 1 free drink, but management still has the right to refuse entry. Warehouse 135 is located at 135 Yakal Street, Makati City. Visit www.drivenmanila.com warehouse135.multiply.com drivenmanila.multiply.com friendster.com/teamdriven

You Know You're a REAL CLUBBER When....
- You have sleeping patterns that would kill normal human beings.
- You start coveting all of your dad's old 1977 polyester sweatsuits.
- Almost every letter of the alphabet has an alternate meaning to you.
- You begin to think of blow-pops as a seperate food group.
- The mere mention of a 3 digit number with a "0" in the middle of it
causes you to drool uncontrollably.
- The odometer of your car increases in big chunks over the weekend.
- You get an evil grin every time you see commercials for "E: the
entertainment network".
- You have to fight back the urge to beat the hell out everyone
who thinks raves are like the club scene in Basic Instinct.
- You can keep a straight face when you tell people "really, not
that many people are on anything....i'm serious!"
- You are happy when there's a recession because it means more empty WAREHOUSES :)
- Food, water, air, Vick's...all are about of equal importance.
- You can live for an entire weekend out of your bookbag.
- You are no longer just a raver...but a promoter, vendor, DJ, etc...
- You know about the INFORMATION POLICE.
- You're white and have dreads.
- You have trouble naming 5 friends who are not pierced SOMEWHERE.
- You'll pay $20 for a ticket to an event that may very well not happen...
and you'll pay $30 for a pill that may very well be aspirin...but you
WILL NOT pay $1.00 for that big glass of water!
- You can't pass an empty warehouse, church, school, big open field, barn,
airplane hanger, phone booth, nuclear power plant, etc...without getting
that far-off look in your eye and saying...'wow, what a great site for a...
- When you see Capn Crunch 4 times in one week!
- You not only notice that household
appliances like washing machines can generate a funky beat, you also
argue about whether it's tribal or trance.
- and even then you're not a TRUE CLUBBER...because no one but myself
can possibly THINK about calling themselves a TRUE CLUBBER!
Waiting for the sun I need to Know if you are there to Carry me home
I reach out To you with my arms wide Open and I ask you if I am alone
Be the Truth that all I see here Even if it brings me Pain I will go on I find the Joy I feel The beauty In all you bring to me Just where I belong.
Give me all I need to find the faith
Give me all that I need to feel the Love I need to breathe need to Find the faith that I have inside I know I am not alone
Give me all the love You bring through Help me to be all I need to Be so I can hear the inside With you I am not alone.

In less than a decade, Ali Nepomuceno is very much respected with his craft and blessed with great accomplishments in the clubbing scene, music and of course, deejaying. Ali grew up in a musically inclined family where he learned the tiny bits of it since he was 8 years old. His mom put him into music classes where he learned to play the bass guitar, the piano and the organ while his father taught him the fundamentals of the drums. His music was greatly influenced by his brother who played for an acid jazz band that carried covers from Incognito, Brand New Heavies and more. Ali Nepomuceno's career in music and DJing was all by blessing in 2001. With the help of his fellow DJs in the circuit such great names like Martin Aquino, Benjo Marquez, Marie Garcia, Adrian Cuenca, the Soong's and more, Ali's music was given chance to be heard in different bars and clubs in and out of the metro. (Bora Bar, Peligro, Coquina, Mati, Racks El Pueblo, Bamboo Lounge, Mezze, Nuvo, Temple, Mcafe, Manila DJ Club, Embassy to name a few) During summer he gets to play on the white sandy beaches of Boracay wherein he played sunset sessions and special events. Ali is got into the big dj circuit when he was given a chance to play with most of Manila's finest DJs Roman Mojica, Chip Dela Calzada, Mon Maramba, Papi Santos, Erwin Edralin of ABGs and more to name a few. In 2005, he was chosen to be a member of powerhouse and elite DJ management - NBK (Natural Born Klubbers) who firstly brought world-class talents like Sasha, Digweed, Paul Van Dyk, Steve Lawler, Nick Warren and more. While in NBK, Ali freelances and most of the time was spinning alongside with his fellow NBK DJs Antz Santiago, Bombi Balquiedra, David Jacob, Marc Naval, Jon Naval, Paolo Maralit, Raji Mata, Jed Dario, one of the Philippine's most famous, crowd-favorite, Manolet Dario. In 2006, he was given a break by Domini and Joanne Primero for Bigfish's New Year's Event "Run Towards Light" and followed soon to play pre-parties and corporate events. Ali was chosen by Carlo Ocampo's BPM (Beats Per Minute) Tour as one of the youngest and finest DJs in Manila. 2006 is really a great start for him for he was nominated in the 24/7 Nocturnal Awards as Best Local DJ.
Recently, Ali is having most of his regular stints at Warehouse 135, The Philippines' Premiere club - for its private and corporate parties, Fridays Diskoteca Deluxe and Blow by Blow Saturdays.
Different among the other spin doctors, Ali's elevating and captivating dj sets are spontaneous and are not rehearsed at all. His versatility in all genres makes him unique among anyone else. From deep house to techno, from progressive to trance, Ali can surely manage to bring something out of the box and you have never heard before. Major Influences: Manolet Dario, Erwin Edralin, Manolet Santos, Mon Maramba, Martin Aquino & Benjo Marquez Music Genre Influences: Acid Jazz

IT WAS A THURSDAY NIGHT WAY BACK 2001 IN WESTIN PHILIPPINE PLAZA WHEN I FIRST HEARD THIS, WHEN NICK WARREN & THE REST OF WAY OUT WEST CAME HERE IN MANILA...SINCE THEN, IT BECAME THE SOUND TRACK OF MY SOUL, MY EXPRESSION OF MYSELF & OF COURSE, THE MUSIC THAT I PLAY...MINDCIRCUS IS MORE THAN A TITLE OF A SONG ;)

Falling in, Six hours from morning, And falling in, Sink me off to sleep So come along within, I think it's time to let me in, I'm tipping my foot very close to the edge, And just a few more of your seconds, And I need for me to repair To neatly stand and spin it around in my head, Oh can i please have some silence, How about some space? Can i have some space? Almost, ready to drift now, And I feel myself slipping inside you, Oh just a little bit further, before something drags me back, You're so close, I thought I nearly had you there I'm so tired, I gotta sleep, I wanna wake up from a dream, I've had enough, I need to sleep, I wanna wake up without you, Yeah So come along within I think it's time to let me in, I'm tipping my foot very close to the edge, And just a few more of your seconds, And I need for me to repair To neatly stand and spin it around in my head, Oh can i please have some silence? How about some space? Oh can i please have some silence? Can i have some space? Oh can i please have some silence? How about some space? Can i please have some silence? How about some space?
